High Doat

Date:

Thursday, April 30, 2015

Club:

WCOC

Level:

D

Type:

Summer Series

Location:

CA12 5XN

Grid Reference:

NY246138

Terrain:

High Doat – small but intricate area with lots of rock and contour detail and even a small tarn! All runnable at present. The bracken is pretty much flattened to below knee level but it is still hard & sharp so leg cover a good idea (shorts & gaiters OK).

Map:

Lovely map by Andrew Warner. Only major paths are mapped as the area has a myriad of small paths/sheep trods which change from year to year.

Entries:

3.50 Adult 2.00 Juniors

Courses:

Long (3.6K, 250m), Short(2.6K, 200m) and Novice(1.6K, 90m)  cross-country courses. Long and short courses have some gaffling so  be careful who you follow!

Start Times:

6.00 - 7.15 pm

Planner:

Mike Hind

Other Notes:

Kit: Pray for a fine evening as the views will be spectacular. Bring full waterproof cover just in case – Borrowdale can be decidedly wet and cold even in April. Whistles will be compulsory.

Parking: at NT car park Seatoller. 400m uphill walk to the Start.
