HELP ME TO CHOOSE A COURSE

The Novice/Yellow sticks to paths for its entirety.
The Long course runs near some large crags. Do not attempt to cross these under any circumstances and they have been marked as out of bounds on the map (symbol 709). There is a bit of steep ground above one of the large craggs that has been included in the out of bounds, this is not an accident.
The long course may also encounter some unmapped gorse, this is mostly passable (with a bit of wiggling) and should not hinder ones route.

Terrain: Mostly fast open fell with fairly complex contour detail. Some areas are rocky and have large crags/clifs. Steep slopes in areas can make running and moving slow. The longer courses potentially encounters rocky ground and will be slow running for those less confident, please choose your course with this in mind.

Start Times:

5.30pm-7pm

Courses Close:

8pm. Please be back to download by this time.

Other Notes:

New to Night Orienteering?
You need to bring a decent head torch (and maybe a spare and/or spare battery) and make sure to dress appropriately for the weather.
The first series of events, up to Christmas tend to be on easier areas so are suitable for those trying night orienteering for the first time.
Younger and/or inexperienced orienteers should be accompanied.
