Courses:

The start, which is close to Matty Benn’s bridge itself, is ~1 km from the cattle grid along good tracks, so please allow 15 mins walk in (and back so note courses close at 8pm).

The courses take you into the wilds to the east of the historically significant Matty Benn’s (Monks) packhorse bridge, along with a number of antiquities on the bridleway to Skalderskew, bounded to the north by Latterbarrow Beck and the south by Worm Gill. Running is generally fast, with the exception of the wet bits (of which there are many especially if it’s been raining) and a bit of dead bracken on the bank down to Worm Gill.

Long = 4.8 km
Short = 3.0 km
There is no novice course planned as the area is not suitable.

Courses Close:

8pm. Please allow time to walk back to finish.

Planner:

Mike Harrison and Ange Jackson

Other Notes:
