Other Notes: 

  • There is NO NEED TO BOOK.  Just turn up on the night. 
  • Visitors are encouraged to wear FANCY DRESS, but should make sure they’re warm enough for the conditions. 
  • Visitors must bring a TORCH, as the guide lights around the woods do not illuminate - they just blink to show direction…  Gnarly roots and pokey branches are hazards.
  • Adults must accompany small children, not least because some of the control sites might be scary! There may be goodies (sweets) at control sites for the children.
  • Trail open 6:30pm to 7:30pm.  If all visitors arrive at 6:30pm, we will have to enforce a staggered start so that visitors are spread out (better than all being together as spooky surprises don’t work as well if you’ve seen them done to the people just in front of you…)
  • All visitors to the trail need to register first at the Visitor’s Centre Porch. 
    It’s not real orienteering - no skill required; just a fun event for Hallowe’en for all the family. 
    Not necessarily suitable for under 5s (due to dark and spooky) - at family’s discretion.
