Lewis Taylor is to join British Orienteering's World Class Talent Squad. Many congratulations to Lewis, and we all hope he thrives in the Uni Sports setup he is now enjoying. He so deserves this selection after many years of hard work to improve his skills and fitness levels. We all know how hard it has been to stay in contact with him on the fells during the summer series!!

Last night saw the final fell series event of the Spring at Fangs Brow. Congratulations to the prize winners, and a big thank you to John, Kate and their merry band of helpers for all their efforts. The rain stayed away each night and the series was enjoyed by all. See the final league tables in the results section, and if anyone qualifies for a prize but weren't there to pick them up last night, see John or Kate (before they drink it!).

Well done to Charlotte Watson who brought home the W18 Elite tropy from the recent Northern Championships held at Ray Demesne, in Northumberland. Charlotte, running strongly through the heather moorland, led the 6.9km course virtually from the start. Her time of 52.32 was over two minutes clear of a top class field and bodes well for the upcoming major races over the next couple of months. Margaret Mackenzie was third on W50 in 59.58, with Mike Billinghurst fourth on M50 in 58.08.

The venues for the popular spring series of Orient8 have been announced. The sessions move to outside areas and run up until the Summer evening series begins. See the events tabs for the locations. 7pm start as usual. The plan is to have a physical fitness session first with a short running circuit within the terrain. Then a set of short O exercises to provide Orange/LtGreen standard practice.
