Not the OMM weekend

Here’s an alternative for those not tempted by a 7 hour drive to Devon on a Friday followed by a plod around a large bog with 3000 other people interspersed by 14 hours in a wet and cold tent and then a 7 hour drive home…otherwise known as the OMM - this year to be held on Dartmoor…though I can’t really understand why you wouldn’t!

Something far more tempting is the TINTO Twin…an annual fixture that consists of a night event on Saturday followed by an event on the same area on the Sunday morning. As TINTO are a Scottish club it is always held north of the Border. This year it will be held on 30th and 31st October in Inshriach at the mouth of Glen Feshie which was used for the Six Days in 2006 and is a quality area which can provide a challenge during the day and especially at night.

I’ve arranged accommodation for up to 12 people (at the moment 6 male and 6 female) at Karn House - the Fell and Rock Climbing Club property in Aviemore a 10-15 minute drive away from Inshriach and a 5 minute walk from the village centre. The booking is currently for Saturday night though it should be possible to include Friday night if you want to enjoy Speyside for a bit longer (excellent mountain biking available). Accommodation is in dorms but is quite luxurious as they are all en-suite as it is a modern property converted from a B&B. Cost will be around £8 pppn.
