Two COACHING sessions coming up in the next few weeks. These sessions are attached to the WCOC Sunday morning informal events, so provide a perfect opportunity to learn skills and then put them into practice immediately after. Coaching will be from 1000-1100hrs on each Sunday, the informal events will be 1100-1200hrs: Sun 29th Nov at Harris Park, Cockermouth; Sun 6th Dec at Woodhall Park, Cockermouth (just off A595 nr Belle Vue roundabout). This coaching is for beginner and improvers (TD1-3, White, Yellow, Orange courses) but we can also cater for TD4 (Light Green) if you let Lynne know in advance.

BSOC 2015 Sandringham

Congratulations to all the WCOC members who made the long trip to Sandringham this weekend for the British Schools Championships.  They earned a FANTASTIC result, winning the Large Secondary Schools' trophy (beating rivals Ulverston Victoria by just one point).  As part of this success, there were lots of great year group and individual results - Gold for the Y13 girls' team of Katie, Jenn and Kate (winning their age group for an incredible 6th year running!); Gold for the Y9 girls' team of Rosie, Lily and Issy; and Silver for the Y11 boys' team of Alastair, Daniel and Joe; individual Golds for Alastair (Y11) and Rosie (Y9); Silver for Niamh (Y10) and Bronzes for Katie (Y13), Joe (Y10) and Daniel (Y11). A huge thank you to the dedicated teachers who took them! For full results click here.

Thanks to the hardy 38 souls who made the effort around todays course of 10k and 'enjoyed’ a tough navigational challenge and battle against the elements.
Surprisingly there weren’t any complaints when they entrants discovered they were only going to be running the Short due to the conditions.

What a glorious day - perfect for tackling some tough courses! A big thanks to Ange, Rob and Chris for all their hard work and to all the other helpers who contributed to an enjoyable event.
