Other Notes:

Description:
Come and enjoy a classic WCOC area in the first Silva Night Cup event of 2026.
Boulders generously sized at 0.5 m, depressions that require significant imagination, and crags that wouldn't even challenge a baby rabbit. It's also an early opportunity to start the new year as you mean to carry on and run off some of the excesses of the festive season.
Although we won't be able to enjoy the two 'fangs' in the fields this year due to access restrictions, the sight of a myriad of torches zig-zagging across the flank of Burnbank will still be a sight to behold. Needless to say, some of the area could well be quite soft underfoot, but how wet you get your feet will be down to judicious route choice!

New to Night Orienteering?
- You need to bring a decent head torch (and maybe a spare and/or spare battery) and make sure to dress appropriately for the weather.
- Post-Christmas events are on slightly tougher areas. Long, Short, Red and Easy courses should be available.
- Younger and/or inexperienced orienteers should be accompanied.
