Terrain:
Mosedale Beck is a beautiful hidden valley that has never previously been used for orienteering - all courses except the Easy(spark) go into the Mosedale Beck valley.
Threlkeld Common at this time of year is very tough going with big tussocks and waist deep reeds.
I appreciate not everyone likes running through this sort of terrain as much as me, so the courses avoid the tallest reeds, but in many places it is still tough going (it was even slower going a month ago).
The following sad story way be of interest to competitors as they struggle across the area.
