Juniors

WCOC were well represented in the relays today at the beautiful Graythwaite Estate, and collectively produced many good runs.

The outstanding team results were a WIN for Daniel, Ben and Alastair on Intermediate Men (M48-), and second places for Henry, Joe and Caitlin in the Mini-Relay and also Helen, Lynne and Kate in Senior Women (W120+). Fantastic!!

(For more pictures, keep an eye on our Facebook page.)

Let's see if we can bag a few more podium places at the relays tomorrow...

Well done to all the WCOC juniors who braved illness, injury and the elements to take on the massed ranks of LOC in today's Yvette Baker qualifier at Askham Fell. Despite many good performances (again!) we just missed out on the first place. Many thanks to Vanessa, Junior Team Captain, for her efforts co-ordinating and organising all the entries today (while modelling the very latest in wet weather gear). Make sure you are all fit and well and let's see if we can do even better at the JK next weekend...

Interland 2015 England Team

Great results for Alastair Thomas, winning the M16 course (by 3 minutes), and Mike Billinghurst (5th M50), who were part of the England team which once again won the "Interland" competition (held this weekend in the "picturesque and intricate Surrey hills"). Congratulations also to Lynne Thomas for her win on W45L at the Southern Champs (held alongside Interland) - could she be convinced to run for England...?

Club Chase course winners Jan 2015 - Caitlin with the trophy!

Many thanks to Catherine Wetherfield for organising an excellent Club Social last night, and to Kim and Howard Leslie for the superb and well supported Club Chase this morning.  Thanks also to all the helpers who gave up...

Are you up for a night running challenge around the forests and fells of West Cumbria?  Most of our upcoming Thursday night events will now offer a "Nighthawk" course - 3-4km with easy navigation following paths and other line features (such as walls, fences and streams).  Come and have a go!  See the Events page for more details.

Thanks very much to Lynne for a fantastic end of year coaching session this morning, and well done to all the juniors (and seniors) who braved the cold!  For a taste of the fun, click here.
